Teacher Admits To Having Threesome With Students - Posts Unbelievable Selfie After Being Sentenced

A Louisiana teacher who faced a judge for having sex with a student got just a slap on the wrists. Moments after the judge let her off easy, she posted a photo of herself with a big smile and her arm thrust into the air. Some see it as proof that the judge made a mistake.

Shelley Dufresne, a 34-year-old high school teacher who was arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old student, made a plea deal on Thursday in order to avoid jail time. Her charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile has been reduced to obscenity, and she won't serve the three-year jail sentence she was facing.

Dufresne lost her teaching license and will serve 90 days in a mental health facility, plus three years’ probation. The reduced charge means she will not have to register as a sex offender.

As she left court, Dufresne snapped a picture of her smiling face and arm in the air. She posted it to Instagram with the caption, "My mood today," followed by three smiley faces.

Some feel her victory pose was an indiscretion. "She needs to be somber. I don't think this was a joyous day at all," commented a local to Fox 8 Live News. "I think for sure she would have had to register as a sex offender."

Gloating is probably not a good idea in this case.
