Something Had To Be Done To Help An Elderly Neighbor, Neighbors Leap Into Action Without Hesitation

Some of us are fortunate enough to live in neighborhoods in which everyone keeps an eye out for each other. In these idyllic neighborhoods, everyone may generally keep to themselves and mind their own business, but they won’t hesitate to step up when someone needs a hand. As AWM shares, that’s the case for this 93-year-old woman from Alabama, but even she was stunned at the kindness of a pair of helpful neighbors.

Rodney Smith Jr. and his friend Terrence Story have a lawn service company known as Raising Men Lawn Care Service, and they got wind that one of their neighbors could use a little hand. That neighbor just happened to be the 93-year-old woman. She’s still in pretty good shape and relatively self-sufficient, but her neighbors grew concerned when they saw her trying to be a little too independent. The woman was attempting to mow her own lawn, and that’s when Rodney and Terrence jumped in to pitch in.

“We did this sweet lady’s lawn today. She is 93, the neighbors told us that she been out their trying to cut her own lawn. Have no fear, raising men lawn care is going to make sure her lawn is done every two weeks! Making a difference in our community!” Rodney shared on social media.

The woman wished to remain anonymous, but she was incredibly touched by the men’s kind actions. The amazing young men made her day, but it sounds like that’s something they’re used to doing. In addition to being full-time students, they started their lawn service company and a non-profit organization that aims to give back to the elderly and incapacitated people.

Rodney and Terrence hope to serve as role models for other young men, and it certainly sounds like mission accomplished on that front. Their philanthropic ways, dedication and good nature point to a bright future up ahead, and hopefully they will inspire others to give back to their communities as well.
