Pulling On A Random Rope Leads Man To Discover A Destructive Plot

If you live in Northern New Jersey, you've probably been to High Mountain Park at least once. The park is a haven for local hikers due to it's lovely, peaceful trails. Unfortunately, thanks to some sick troublemaker, things aren't quite as peaceful on the mountain these days. Residents are on alert, and authorities are looking for a suspect.

A man who was hiking on the path noticed an unusual rope. He gave it a yank, and it unearthed a board with screws sticking out.

The hiker notified authorities, and park rangers began inspecting the area for other dangers. They were shocked to find a large amount of dangerous, potentially deadly, booby traps hidden along the trails very strategically as if someone was definitely plotting to cause the maximum damage possible.

“The resident states that since June 23 he has found wooden boards hidden beneath the surface of the trail with screws/nails protruding, broken bottles placed along the trails behind or next to rocks or logs, and rope and barbed wire strung across pathways,” said Wayne police Capt. Laurence W. Martin.

“The barbed wire and rope that was strung across the pathways raises the threat to serious injury or death,” added Martin in an interview with Opposing Views.

Supervisor Bob Simpson said he'd noticed a nail along the trail recently but thought someone had dropped it. Now he considers it a chilling find since several boards embedded with nails have been hidden throughout the area. If someone were to ride their bike over those nails or jog over them without realizing they were there, the injuries could be extreme. Pets and local wildlife could also sustain some pretty nasty injuries from these sick pranks.

Police are trying to catch the sick, twisted individual who is booby-trapping the park, and in the meantime are asking residents and visitors be on the look-out.
