Grandmother Gives Her Life To Save Her Grandchildren

A brave grandmother has been stabbed to death after rescuing her children from a known child sex offender in Columbus, Ohio. 45-year-old Ms. Candy Arthurs, had become concerned after her grandchildren failed to return home after some time, and went to look for them. When she discovered that the two children, only 7 and 8 years old respectively, had been lured into an alleyway by known sex offender, Kristopher Amos, her worst nightmares were realized.

Mr. Amos, having previously been convicted for child enticement with sexual motivation, was recently registered as a sex offender. It is believed that Mr. Amos lured Ms. Arthur’s two grandchildren down a dark alleyway, stating that he needed help to find his drone. The young, naïve children were none the wiser of Mr. Amos’ disturbing intentions.

When Ms. Arthur saw what was happening, she realized that she had to step in and protect her grandchildren. Candy’s daughter, Amanda Gibson, told reporters that Ms. Arthur “always said she would die for them...” When Amos realized that he could not get away with the two, young children, he pulled out a long knife, stabbing Ms. Arthur, and her grandson.

Sadly, Ms. Arthur’s wounds proved to be fatal, and the selfless grandmother passed away shortly after the incident. Her grandson, who was stabbed in the shoulder, has fully recovered while Ms. Arthur’s granddaughter was unharmed.

Amanda has relayed the horrific details of the incident, stating that her “son was covered in blood” and that her mother was in a much worse state. Ms. Gibson has expressed how grateful she is to her mother, who selflessly gave her own life to protect her grandchildren, stating “…it’s hard because she lost her life, but she saved both of my kids’ lives that night.”

Mr. Amos has been jailed after committing enticement for a second time and is facing a murder charge for the horrific death of Ms. Arthur.
