There’s certain people in the world that most people wouldn’t want to rub the wrong way. That list usually includes people in authority, heads of state, and the president-elect of the United States. As CNN reports, it sounds like Harry Hurt III did just that during a recent trip to hit the links at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, and he was asked to leave the premises as a result.
Hurt has previously written a biography, "Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump," that was critical of the president-elect, but he claims to have approached Trump with hat in hand to make nice. That didn’t go so well, according to Hurt.
“Trump said, 'You were rough on me, Harry. Really rough. That s--- you wrote,'” Hurt boasted in a Facebook post, before going onto explain that he had a Dirty Harry moment and looked Trump in the eye to exclaim “It's all true.”
It’s been confirmed that Hurt was in fact at the golf course on the day in question, and that he was asked to leave. However, there’s no confirmation that things went down as he claims that they did, and that’s led many to believe that it’s simply a case of someone with an axe to grind spinning out a narrative in a way that makes them look like a hero.
