GOP 'Sucking Up' to Latinos

Republicans should stop "sucking up" to Latino voters because they are unlikely to support the party's candidates, according to Ann Coulter.

The conservative commentator, appearing Friday on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor," said Democrats exploit the immigration issue to appeal to Hispanics.

The Huffington Post noted that Coulter was responding to a Fox News poll that revealed the Republican Party's slumping popularity. The survey found that just 36 percent of registered voters had a "favorable" view of the GOP, while 54 percent gave it an "unfavorable" rating.

Democrats did just slightly better in the poll, with a 43 percent favorable score and a 50 percent unfavorable rating.

"If the Republican Party is going to win, they're going to have to be the populist party and bring up issues like immigration, which they won't touch," Coulter said. "Instead of constantly sucking up to a group of people who will never vote for you, how about appealing to the other
