Singer Faces Down Stickler Judge In Competition, Then Blows Him Away With This Number

Talent shows often showcase a variety of incredible performances, whether it’s dance, art, acting or singing; millions of people are regularly left in awe at the level of talent displayed by ordinary people. Audiences were even more amazed than usual after listening to the performance of Jodi Bird, a 16-year-old girl who stunned the audience with her magnificent singing voice after telling the audience and judges of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ that she had ‘always wanted to perform and do what I [she] love.” When the young girl bravely auditioned on the popular talent show, she had no idea that her performance would touch the hearts of people around the world.

After some initial hesitation, Jodi decided to sing “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” a song from the popular movie ‘Funny Girl.’ The song proved to be a huge hit with the audience who listened in rapture to Jodi’s breathtaking vocals. However, in a shocking turn of events, one of the show’s judges, the perpetually cranky Simon Cowell, decided to cut short the performance, raising his hand, and signaling that Jodi should stop singing because he wanted to “listen to something a little less smiley and…a better song.”

However, realizing that she had the support of the audience and several other judges, Jodi proceeded to face down Simon and began singing her rendition of the song all over again. After finishing, the crowd erupted into applause as the audience gave the humbled young girl a standing ovation for her skill and bravery.

The incredible moment was uploaded onto YouTube video where it has since accumulated over 14 million views. Many users took the opportunity to praise Jodi with many telling the teenager that she had the skills to make it in the music industry while other online commentators poked fun and expressed their irritation towards the “grouchy” Simon Cowell. In a heart-warming turn of events, following her performance, a downcast Simon mumbled: “I may have acted a bit prematurely there.”
