The Judges Stopped Laughing The Second This 'Hillbilly' Opened His Mouth

You never do know what you’re going to get when an unknown person walks on stage to perform in front of the crowd, and that’s a strong part of the appeal for the preponderance of talent competition shows on the tube. One of the biggest of the bunch is ‘America’s Got Talent,’ and the hit show has been known for some memorable instances from the performers it attracts.

As shared by Shareably, one of the biggest surprises came back in 2010, when a young southern gentleman that resembled a country bumpkin showed up on stage. He described himself as a former “chicken catcher,” and the judges had a few laughs at his expense. In fact, Sharon Osbourne even went as far as to refer to him as a ‘hillbilly.’

Piers Morgan put an end to that chatter and asked the man to start his routine - and he proceeded to flat out nail it. Kevin Skinner offered up an epic take on “If Tomorrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks, stunning the judges, the studio audience and those fortunate enough to be watching at home.

The video of his awesome night has been making the rounds, and it’s yet another valuable lesson on the principle of not judging a book by its cover.
