Shark Tank Panel Mocked This Naive Farmer, But He Has The Perfect Response (Video)

The Tree-T-Pee is an innovative water containment system for agriculture and gardening. Inventor and farmer Johnny Georges developed the product out of his passion for conserving water.

The Tree-T-Pee provides both water conservation through its micro-sprinklers and frost protection through tree guard made of recycled plastic at the base of trees.

Georges was very surprised when he heard the "Shark Tank" producers wanted to feature his product on their show.

"For me, it was just go up there, be yourself, and hopefully they like you," Georges explained. "If not, well, they get to show the world what we're doing to conserve water."

The Sharks loved Georges and his story. Georges told the panel of millionaires that working hard, persistence and giving back was instilled in him by his father, and he wanted to honor his father and those values with the Tree-T-Pee.

"He lives on through me," Georges noted.

"It's who we are, because when you're gone, you have nothing," Georges explained. "It's not about the money to me. It's about doing what's right."

Even “bad cop” panelist Kevin O'Leary had something nice to say about Georges.

"You can see his passion as a great American that wanted to help farmers in times of real trouble," O'Leary said. "At the same time, he was deeply troubled that he wasn't making money."

Georges explained that his product costs around $2.95 a unit and sold for $4.50 each. Those small margins were shocking to the Sharks, but investor John Paul DeJoria jumped on board.

"When Johnny said that this Tree-T-Pee saves 3,000 percent on water, you only use one-30th the water, that's when I knew this was good for farmers. It's good for America. I want to be this guy's partner," DeJoria pointed out.

Georges inbox was hit with over 56,000 emails in the day after his appearance on "Shark Tank” and he sold thousands of Tree-T-Pees the very first night.

Since then, Georges has been all across the US showing farmers the benefits of the Tree-T-Pee. Moreover, his company just signed a contract with major retailer The Home Depot.
